Now that I have caught you all up on the events of 2010 it is time to start with 2011 which promises to be busier then 2010. We have had a good holiday and are mentally preparing for work ( can not rush such events).

Christmas Day 2010

Christmas day started at about 5.30am with Emma waking to find Santa has been extremely generous and delivered all the right things to her and Isabelle. After the excitement had died down we all went to church followed by an SOS to the Grandparents to put the Turkey on as dad had to rush to work. We then went home and opened all the presents under the tree which brought out more excitement in the girls then it was time to go to Grandma's for more festivities which included a huge water fight and lots to eat and MORE presents to open. So although very hectic we had a lovely day with family. We then came home slightly exhausted and packed the car ready for our trip to Coffs. We all slept well and woke early Boxing Day for a long drive.

Pre Christmas 2010

Our family tradition still holds of putting up the tree on The 1st December no matter what is happening on the otherwise hectic calendar!!!! The girls and daddy love all the decorating while mummy does the cleanup!!

Isabelle

Isabelle has continued to rule daycare and loves going and seeing all her "kids" as she calls them. She comes home and tells us all about the day and then role plays the days events with her dolls and Emma. We have been entertained by her concerts over the holidays they are very amusing and keeps us laughing.

Emma

Emma has enjoyed her first year at Beecroft and she has made many new friends and discovered some talents. She has started to loose some baby teeth which is always a big event in the house.
This year we enrolled her in some tennis coaching during the holidays and she is getting the hang of coordination of raquet and ball and ball over the net. She also started Little Athletics on a Saturday morning and she is quite the short distance runner. All of which keeps her occupied and fit as well as sociable. Isabelle of course wants to join.
In 2011 she will be in Year 1 and as the holidays draw to a close she is getting quite excited.

Football Grandfinal

we decided to have a family outing for the Grandfinal this year. The girls choose to support St George over the Roosters of course as they were the winning team. We had an enjoyable evening.

Family Time

The girls enjoy hanging out with their cousins Hannah and Claire as well as Grandma and Cheryl. Isabelle is lucky enough to catch up on a Tuesday and Emma usually spends time on the weekend with her cousin. Claire turned 1 on October 9th and we had a lovely evening eating Hamburgers and Birthday cake.

As part of Isabelle's Daycare program she had to drag ET around with her for a week and take photos of ET being part of her life. Isabelle found it very exciting and the photographer (Glen) found it somewhat embarrassing. Very Cute!!

I had my first work fete in September then Emma followed with the first of many Beecroft fetes. At both we worked hard and the girls had a great time spending money and going on as many rides as they were permitted. Both days were great weather wise and the money raised was outstanding.

The Athlete

On September 2nd Emma competed in her first school Athletics carnival. She did really well and we went and cheered her on.

Isabelle preformed in her first play at Day Care she was a "tree". She was a very cute tree and did her bit very well.

Our Visitor from America Number 2

We had another visitor from Michigan Danielle who stayed with us for 3 weeks we got on well and the girls really enjoyed having a big playmate to boss around and play ever card game in their cupboard. We had a lovely time up the mountains and did a big walk down to the bottom of the 3 sisters and then caught the cable car back up. We were sad to see her go.

1St Tooth Fairy visit

FINALLY Emma lost her first tooth it was a long drawn out process but finally it was pulled out. Shortly after she lost her second tooth at school which was wrapped in a tissue and brought home.

Isabelle's 4th Birthday

We celebrated Isabelle's birthday with a family picnic at Fagan's Park. We all had a lovely time until the rain came in very heavily and all packed up madly.

Cairns

In the school holidays we travelled up to Cairns to visit our good friends the Westcotts.
Brett the Captain of a patrol boat gave us a guided tour of the boat at the naval base.
During our stay we travelled up to Kuranda by train and caught a gondola back down again.
We had lots of fun sliding and swimming in the hotel pool.
The Mcanally's and Westcotts drove up to Mossman Gorge and across to the Daintree which was very scenic.
We enjoyed dinners with our friends and the children enjoyed the many daytime adventures together. The girls were very sad to leave the lovely warm weather but had to return a wet and cold Sydney. Holidays are great and we can't wait till the next one. Enjoy a small selection of the many photos we took.

Our Visitor from America

For 2 weeks we had Julia come and stay with us from Michigan State University. She is a uni student studying to become a teacher and was here on a study abroad program.
Julia also attended school with Jo and taught some lessons as well as attending the Year 6 Canberra 3 day excursion. The girls thoroughly enjoyed her stay as did we.
One day we took her down to Kiama and the Blow hole as well across Seacliff Bridge.

Emma turns 6

Our little girl turned 6 on the 10th of May and to celebrate she had a weekend of celebrations. It started with a party on Saturday. Emma invited 9 classmates and we had a hectic 2 hours of games and food. The girls enjoyed themselves and we were happy when they were all picked up a 2pm. The "Hello Kitty" cake was well received.
On Sunday as well as Mother's Day we had the family over for afternoon tea which Emma enjoyed.
Then on her real birthday she had a lovely day at school and then was treated to Thai takeaway for dinner and of course birthday cake.

Easter Show 2010

We paid our annual visit to the show this year and we all enjoyed it. The girls are now very interested in the rides and of course the showbags are now popular and weeks of decision making goes into the final purchase. The animals are always popular.

Easter this year was spent up at Woolgooga . With Grandma and Pop. Very busy 4 days the children swam and ate eggs.

You can't do one without the other so in the afternoon we all ventured to Isabelle's daycare and watched her parade and sing. The children then had an Easter Egg Hunt. Very popular.

Well we spent a few days on the design shop and make process and Emma wore her hat with pride. I feel her mummy may have a new calling. Emma enjoyed her first term at school and is looking forward to term 2. Grandma, Cheryl, cousin Claire and her mum and dad watched Emma parade her hat and preform with her class on the last day of term.

In February we all caught up with Vicky as she was home doing research. She had left David back in London to watch the flat. They are both enjoying their time away and have many trips of the continent planned.

In early January we took the girls into the city and caught the ferry across to Manly. It was a little cloudy but an enjoyable day.

First Day at Big School

Emma started at Beecroft Public School On Tuesday Feb 2nd 2010. She was very excited and could not wait to say goodbye to her little sister, mum and dad. When daddy picked her up in the afternoon she had lots of stories to tell everyone. Isabelle missed her but was happy to have daddy to herself.

Party Hats Sparklers and Glen went fishing. Jo went to bed and Glen watched the fireworks on the beach and didn't catch a thing meanwhile his father Fred and brother Kim both got a good size fish each. Better luck next year for Glen.

Meet the goats

Steve our good friend took us all up to meet his family's goats which had just had some babies. Emma loved the goats very much meanwhile Isabelle climbed up as high as she could and screamed at them as she was terrified. After a while with the goats safely behind the fence she bravely posed for this photo. Meanwhile the rest of us enjoyed patting 1 week old goats and looking around the old banana plantation. The goats are doing a marvellous job of keeping away all the weeds, now that growing bananas in the region is no longer viable.

The holidays continued after xmas at the beach at Woolgoolga. Mikayla came to visit and enjoyed playing with Emma, Isabelle and Oliver joined.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to everyone! The girls had a very exciting day as Santa had their stockings overflowing with presents including a scooter. The day started at 6:30 with presents, followed by a huge christmas feast including the traditional turkey, pudding and was finished with christmas cake. Each day we have been going to the beach while up with Glen parents, so tomorrow we will be back at the beach again we hope.

Graduation to Orientation

Emma had her second visit to Beecroft Public School on Tuesday she was very excited as I gave her a kiss goodbye. She met her buddy for next year and had a tour of the school and was given a letter from her buddy which she thought was very nice. We bought her school uniform which she has proudly paraded. Our baby has grown up.

We attended Emma's graduation from daycare on Friday night. We did not know what to expect as Emma had kept very quiet about the whole thing. We were pleasantly surprised when Emma and her friends performed for us some dancing and singing. Emma was given a certificate and we then watched a film that showed Emma being asked "What do you want to be when you grow up?" her response was " A princess so I can live in a castle and wear pretty dresses"

Melbourne Cup 2009

As tradition has it the girls wore dresses and raced around the yard chasing each other on horse back. Glen was the big winner on the day. Lunch was at our place for the family hosted by Glen while I had to work. The girls enjoyed making their horses and had paint and glitter everywhere.

Halloween

The girls were very excited when Day care had a dressup day for Halloween. Our little angels turned into witches. They had a fun day at daycare trick and treating.

THE SHED

A man can not have a house without a shed. So after a few delays in shipping the shed arrived in a box. Next came the slab which we had a professional do (alot quicker and accurate). Then the big day arrived and as luck would have it it was raining!! Glen called in a mate who we now owe big time :- thanks Matt for the good work. The Job got done in one day and once again the girls assistance was needed to hold things.
It did not take long for the shed to be filled and we now have a less cluttered garage !! Glen now has a place to hangout when it all gets too much.

Gate Building

What are school holidays for but building something or adding to the yard. Glen turned his skills to Gate building so we now have a fully enclosed yard to keep the children in. A little bit of trail and error but over all Glen did a great job with assistance from the girls.

The third exciting piece of news for the holidays is that we have a new edition to the family. My sister Cheryl had her second little girl: Claire Alice Childs on Friday October 9th 5 days earlier then planned but all are doing really well. Congratulations Cheryl, Nigel and Hannah we wish all the joy and happiness that a little bundle brings.

School Holiday Fun

Our 2nd adventure was to Canberra for Mabel's Baptism. Our adventure started before we left Sydney. Glen discovered that the radiator had a small leak and it would not be safe to take the CRV so a few phone calls later we were able to borrow Mum's car ( thank goodness for mothers).

While in Canberra which was freezing we went to Floriade which was very colourful. The girls wanted to know what time the show was starting and didn't quite understand that all the flowers were the show!!!

We also drove up Black Mountain in the hope of seeing snow but there was none so we went up Telstra Tower and the view was good.

The baptism went of well and everyone behaved.

Our trip home was long and wet and the girls had a small sleep.

School Holiday Fun

Our first adventure of the holidays was with Grandma when we went to Patonga (spelling) for Fish and Chips. Along the way we stopped for a little bushwalk which the girls enjoyed and collected lots of sticks and things. We had a play on the beach and watched the Pelicans as well as collecting many shells to decorate sand castles and to take home to make craft items from. A very busy day and we all had to have a sleep on the way home...... Luckily Grandma drove.

We had a lovely day. Daddy got very spoilt starting with a cooked breakfast then a trip into the city and a walk around The Rocks seeing the Harbour Bridge was very exciting and the Opera House. We walked through the markets and then had Sushi for lunch. A quick look at the shops and then home to visit Papa for afternoon tea. A very exhausting day.

Glen and the girls are still finding time to visit friends. Our friend Leigh with her little baby Mabel who I am yet to meet. We are attending her baptisim in Canberra in October.

Planting

Work on the house is never done ............. The driveway was finally finished and we had the tape cutting ceremony all very official. We are very happy with the remote controlled doors. Our little brickwall has been finished and I need to plant it out. Our Splashback was finally installed 5 weeks late and of course the planting of trees and plants have begun.

While mummy is hard at work the children and daddy get to go and visit all their little friends. They had a lovely day last Tuesday visiting first Bern and Isaac in their new house. They then went on to visit a new little baby. Adam and Michelle are now proud parents of a little girl Alexandria. The girls loved seeing all the babies.

Isabelle, Emma and Hannah all had a good time at the party as the photos tell they were pretty exhausted as they all slept in on Monday till around 8.30am. Some of us had to get up for work.

Birthday Celebration take 2

On Sunday the 26th July we had Isabelle's family celebration. The first birthday in the "new house". We shared a lovely BBQ with the family and Isabelle enjoyed playing with all her presents. Grandma and Papa provided the entertainment with a wheelbarrow that could double up as a little people mover.

Disney on Ice

As part of the birthday celebrations we took the girls to ACER Arena Homebush to see Disney on Ice. This featured all of The Disney Princesses which Emma knows all about and can describe them all and retell their story. There was lots of singing and dancing and visits from Tinkerbell as well as Mickey and Mini Mouse. Emma was so excited and sat glued in her seat the entire show. Isabelle was a little shell shocked and didn't want to go home. Emma wore her Cinderella outfit and Isabelle her veil and crown.

Isabelle is 3. Wow. Isabelle woke up very excited to be having her birthday in the new house. She had a lovely day with 2 Grandma's and mummy, daddy and Emma. Opening presents was the most exciting and she enjoyed a Chocolate Cake for lunch and then pizza for dinner. What more can a 3 year old ask for ????

Glen's Projects

Glen has taken on board a few major projects in our backyard. One of these was unplanned due to the fact we could not find our phone line so glen dug a waist deep hole with assistance from plumbers and cabling men we eventually found the pipe. His other major project has been a retaining wall that is still going as he hit the stormwater drain and had to call the plumber. He has successfully put up the clothesline and letter box which look great. Stay tuned for retaining wall development.

The Driveway

Our driveway has taken weeks to lay due to equipment malfunction, weather, telstra and weather. As I write this we are still not able to drive into our garage another week and half !! Never lay concrete in winter. Telstra is a whole problem on its own which due to the delays we actually saved ourselves a small fortune. This delay gives Glen more time to sort the garage out !!

Moving 29th June 2009

Well we finally made the decision to move in without a driveway. Due to all the wet weather we delayed the driveway for a week so we could move in. The weather was perfect and the removalist arrived on time and proceeded to move all our furniture. During the whole process we had tradesman finishing off their bits in the house. it was all a little crazy at times. There were no major accidents or breakages !! We left behind a rather large pile of "STUFF" which council picked up.

Carpet

We are quite pleased with our carpet and floorboards. Everything is coming together the widows have flyscreens and most of the windows now have their coverings.
Next is the driveway which is not going to be laid till next week now due to equipment failure.

The House

Wow we can now say we have built....... We have the keys to our house.
We now have an army of tradesmen lined up to complete all the finishing touches.
Keep praying and wishing for fine weather so that our driveway can get laid on Saturday.

Emma is now 5 !!!!!

Our little princess is now 5. Wow how the times flies by it is hard to believe that this time 5 years ago we were wondering what to do with our little bundle of joy. Now there is no stopping her. Emma is a typical 5 year old girl who loves Barbie and all the Disney Princesses.
We celebrated with a family dinner featuring a roast pork and of course a Number 5 birthday chocolate cake.
Emma also shared her birthday with mummy as it was Mother's Day.

The Touch Ups Begin

The house is slowly moving along. The final touches have started, we now have taps, toilets, light switches, light fittings the most anticipated inbuilt vacuum system, intercom system ........ No move in date yet !!!!

Grandma's Birthday at Taronga Zoo.

April is a busy month for birthdays and today we headed for a day at the zoo. All Emma wanted to see were the Giraffes, and Jo wanted to see the Seal show. Hannah loved the monkeys and imitating them as she walked along. Isabelle loved the ducks the most. This visit we saw the elephants, which was great as last time we went they were not there.

Glenbrook Bush Walk

Last Tuesday Grandma, Jo Emma and Isabelle headed off up to the Blue Mountains for a bush walk and hoping to spot many kangaroos. They saw one. The rest were hiding or heard them coming. The girls enjoyed a picnic lunch and climbing on the boulders for a photo opportunity.

Our Niece; Hannah Turns 2

Hannah has turned 2. To celebrate a cake in the shape of the number 2 was a must and shared enthusiastically by her two favourite cousins. Cheryl and Nigel provided a very nice lunch for everyone, before Grandpa fell asleep briefly on the couch.

Happy Easter 2009

In true McAnally fashion we celebrated Easter with a trip to the Easter Show on Good Friday. The girls did amazingly well and survived the crowds for 6 hours. We visited the baby animals, watched some shows and saw the cats. A show visit is nothing without a visit to the Show Bag Hall !!!!!

Kim and Bron's Wedding

We flew down to Hobart for a 4 day weekend on Friday the 20th March so that we could attend Kim and Bron's wedding in Hobart on Sunday the 22nd. Glen was a Grooms man so he atrtended to his duties during the weekend. The day went well with the bide and Groom outlasting many of their guests partying on at the casino afterwards.

Pop's 60th

We celebrated Pop's birthday with a picnic at Botany Bay in between flights. The girls enjoyed decorating the cake and we all enjoyed the cake.

The trip away

Our trip to Hobart was brief but alot of fun. The girls enjoyed staying with Grandma and Grandpa and were spoilt . They loved us coming home and especially the presents we brought them. I think it will be quite sometime before we are allowed to go away without the girls.

The Girls with Daddy

The girls have settled into their new routine of having time with daddy on a Monday and Tuesday instead of mummy. Mummy misses her girls more then they miss her. Glen has enjoyed the swimming lessons and Dance lessons. The housework is also being done !!!!

The big wardrobe

This week the doors were added to the massive 6 door wardrobe that Jo is enthusiastic to fill!

Tiles begin

This week the tiler has been busy installing the tiles in each room.
First he called me to come and check the tiles were correct a week ago. Then he called to confirm placement of the soap holder. Decisions decisions decisions!!!!

House Update

Our house is progressing well now and will be locked up very soon. The gyprock was completed in one week and since then the stairs have been added the kitchen and vanities installed, wet areas waterproofed and some doors and achitraves have been added.It all looks great.

Coalcliff Bridge

On Sunday we decided to escape the heat of Sydney and head South to Coalcliff to show grandma the bridge out across the ocean. We all had an enjoyable day. To our disbelief it was a little foggy but the girls still had a good time. We had a picnic lunch at Thirroul and then a swim in the pool before heading back home.

House update !!!

Our last posted showed the roof was on which was great as it was on before Christmas. Since then alot has happened considering the builders were on holiday for 4 weeks. In brief:
* The air conditioning outlets and unit has been installed
* Electrical wiring is through
* Ducted vacuming system laid
* Insulation on all walls and roofing laid
* Exterior paint job 1/2 completed
* Scaffolding taken away
*Exterior bricks have been cleaned
* The house is ready for gyprocking

Australia Day 2009

Australia day this year was celebrated by the McAnally's in true Aussie style...... A trip to the airport to pick up Grandma then out to Mosman to enjoy a swim at the beach , very refreshing and then up to the "Mosman House" for Salad Rolls and Lamingtons for lunch. This was followed by a stroll over to the Headland to see some boats on the Harbour then home to a BBQ dinner.

Holidays are great for catching up with old friends. We were lucky enough to spend a night with the Westcott Family before they headed of to Carnis for a few years. We survived the heat by playing in the little pool the boys ( Callum and Declan) and girls (Emma and Isabelle) all played well together and we all had a lovely evening. We are planning a visit to Far North Queensland over the next 2 years.

Oliver's early 1st Birthday Celebrations

Due to the fact that we wont be in Hobart to celebrate with Oliver on his birthday we had an early celebration the night before he left. Everyone enjoyed the cake and Oliver seems able to open many presents. HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

McAnally Family

We were able to spend a week with Glen's brother Kim and partner Bronwyn plus their little boy Oliver the girls cousin who has grown up so much and will be one on the 23rd January. Being from Tasmania he took a little while to get use to the beach and water but we had some lovely times together.

We saw New Year in the same as we have for about the last 5 years early dinner a quiet drink with Merv and Joy after dinner, sparklers at 7.30pm and then bed at 10.30pm. Very exciting!!!

Summer Holidays

With the tree all packed up and the house returned to prechristmas calmness and all the presents in their new homes we packed up and headed north for 2 weeks.
We had a short present opening ceremony and then we were ready for the beach and playing with cousins. The girls had not seen Oliver for 11 months and they enjoyed playing with him.
Grandma enjoyed her annual playdough sessions and showed Emma a few more dance moves.

Boxing Day

For a new twist this year we decided to join the family at Mosman to watch the boats sail out the heads in the Sydney to Hobart and then lunch at Mum and Dads Mosman unit. All went well and the girls enjoyed spending more time with Uncle Dave.

Santa's Little Helper

As tradition goes Grandpa played Santa and this year Isabelle opted to be his helper until there was a present for her and then poor Santa lost his helper. (good help is hard to find)

Christmas Day Part 2 !!!!

Once the presents had been opened and looked at and the girls had enough trampolining as they were told we were of to church and then Pappa's to see the family they quickly dressed and had breakfast ready for the next part of the day.
Mum and dad as usual hosted Christmas lunch which was enjoyed by Mum and Dad, Cheryl, Nigel and Hannah, Jo, Glen, Emma and Isabelle, David and Vicki and her mum, brother and sister. This was an unusual gathering but we all had an enjoyable day. The food was good and the children enjoyed running around playing .

Christmas Day Part 1 !!

Upon waking up the girls discovered that Santa had in fact visited and their sacks were very full of wonderful gifts which they had great delight in pulling out and discovering one by one. We then led them into the backyard for Santa's greatest delivery a TRAMPOLINE !!!!! The girls loved it and have spent many hours on it.

The girls were very excited Christmas Eve as it was only one more sleep till Santa . The girls were surprised when Santa came early to the street on the back of a trailer music blazing and lollies shared. Emma was brave enough to shake his hand. Before going to bed the girls made sure the supplies for Santa were laid out !!

Christmas Tree

Emma and Isabelle had a fantastic time decorating the Christmas tree this year. They did all the lower branches while Glen did the high ones, Jo wrapped the many gifts that are under the tree. The tree looks great and the girls can hardly wait to open the presents. Each day the girls rearrange the decorations and presents so it looks slightly different each morning. Glen also put up about 400 lights on the house so it looks pretty each night.
